Former Voice contestant Adley Stump just released a fun new music video with the help of some big-name collaborators.

How big?

Well, the Recording Academy executive produced the video through its Grammy Amplified program. And the video’s co-star is Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan.

Earlier this year, Adley was named one of three winners of the Grammy Amplified program, sponsored by Hyundai and designed to provided artist development opportunities for up-and-coming musicians.

The prize, in her case, was help with a music video for her catchy and upbeat new single “Don’t Wanna Love Him,” which certainly sounds like a potential country hit.

In the video, Adley plays the ex-girlfriend of a lying guy, strumming a guitar and singing her warning song to Olivia, who’s being wooed by Mr. Wrong.

Tony Woo Joun directed the video, and Adley said working with the Grammy Amplified team was “a dream come true.”

“They captured and built upon my initial vision so well,” she told Voice Views. “And to have their validation of myself as an artist and this song is incredibly humbling. I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity or creative team.”

Once you know the backstory, Olivia’s participation isn’t all that surprising.

Adley says they’ve been best friends since middle school, were cheer captains together and ran for student council together. They also both decided to enter the entertainment field; Olivia is an aspiring actress.

And when NBC dumped coverage of the Miss USA pageant last year after Donald Trump’s controversial comments about immigration, Adley wound up being one of the replacement performers for the broadcast on Reelz TV.

had the blessing of performing at the Miss USA pageant the night she won, and it was almost a year to the date when she got to join me in my first music video of this caliber so it really was a special moment for us and our families,” Adley said. “There is no one I would have wanted to share that experience, or act alongside, with more than Olivia.”

As for the song, Adley wrote it, working from a melody and groove she’d been working on for some time.

“The content pulls from some circumstances I’ve both been in and seen where you are dating someone and everyone around you can see that this is no good,” she said. “Hopefully, like we depicted in the video, you ‘finally hear’ what everyone’s been saying in the end.”

Adley, who competed on Season 2 of The Voice, says she’ll be performing at a number of festivals this summer and has some opening act gigs this fall that she’ll be announcing soon. She’s also working on her next record; she released a seven-track EP called “Like This” about a year ago.

You can follow Adley through her Facebook page and website. On Twitter, she’s simply @AdleyStump.
