Carrie Underwood, Idols at awards shows

Carrie can’t talk (much) about the dress

Carrie Underwood in a photo AP took at an Ottawa Senator hockey game. In an interview with AP, Carrie says her interest in hockey isa recent development.

Apparently, what Carrie Underwood is going to wear during her performance Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music awards show is top secret.

The Associated Press interviewed Carrie Friday during rehearsals for the awards show (Sunday, 8 p.m. on CBS), but had to promise there would be no photos and no video of the gown.

That didn’t stop Carrie from talking about it, just a little.

“It’s big,” she told AP. “It’s big. There’s a lot — a lot of dress.

“It’s hard to describe,” she added. “Kind of like water, maybe? Like red water? That sounds scary, doesn’t it? Maybe like lava. It’s like lava. Or icing. Red icing.”

Hmm.

Well, whatever. I’m sure Carrie will look lovely. She always does at these awards shows.

She usually walks away with awards, too. She’s already won six ACM awards, and she’s up for four more Sunday night, including Entertainer of the Year. No female has won that since the Dixie Chicks in 2000.

Check back with Idol Chatter Sunday night during the show. I’ll be blogging live and posting photos as soon as I can find them. Hopefully, there will be a few of the gown.

Meanwhile, here’s a link to the AP story on Carrie.
