After The Voice

Check out the new video from former Voice standout RaeLynn

0
has been a pretty special year for former Voice contestant RaeLynn.

Her “God Made Girls” single went gold and was all over the radio, peaking at number seven on Billboard’s Hot Country singles chart.

She released her debut EP in January.

She’s toured with Miranda Lambert and she’ll be touring with Rascal Flatts this summer.

And she’s released her followup single, “For a Boy,” and the accompanying video, which you can check out at right.

Not bad for a 20-year-old who didn’t make an immediate impact when she released a single (“Boyfriend”) fresh off a Top 16 finish on Season 2 of The Voice.

In an interview last month, RaeLynn said she wrote “For a Boy” “about guys who always want to be macho and never really want to wear their heart on their sleeves, but when they do, there’s something pretty special about it.”

So far, the song hasn’t taken off quite the way “God Made Girls” did, but it is in the Top 200 on the iTunes country singles chart.

It’s also one of the songs RaeLynn performed at the Jingle Bell Jam in York back in December.

As for that upcoming Rascal Flatts tour — you can catch RaeLynn as an opening act at the Susquehanna Bank Center in the Philly area on Saturday, Aug. 1. Head here for a complete list of RaeLynn tour dates.
