Country singer Curtis Grimes celebrates opening day with new video

2016 Major League baseball season kicked off Monday.

And country singer Curtis Grimes, formerly of The Voice, decided to celebrate the occasion by releasing the video to his baseball-themed song, “Bottom of the Fifth.”

The timing makes sense for another reason. Before deciding to focus on music, Curtis was an all-state high school pitcher in Texas and took his mound talent to Centenary College in Shreveport, La.

The song comes from Curtis’ latest release, a five-track EP released last August.

Other highlights include “Smile that Smile” and “Heaven Sent.” You can check out those below.

For those who don’t remember, Curtis competed on Season 1 of The Voice as a member of Team Cee Lo Green and made it all the way to the Top 12.

Since his stint on The Voice, he also released a 12-track album, “Our Side of the Fence,” in 2014.
