Danny Gokey released his second Christian album, “Rise,” on Friday.

You might say Danny Gokey’s second Christian album is being well received.

“Rise” landed Friday. And it’s been entrenched at the top of the iTunes Christian/Gospel album chart ever since.

The album had also climbed to number 11 on the overall albums chart within 12 hours of its release and was still in the Top 25 as of noon Saturday.

Danny’s also getting glowing reviews for the album on his Facebook page. Check out some of the comments:

* Kathleen Albrecht: “Congratulations I don’t know how you do it but you keep on getting better and better! This CD is awesome.”

* Kayti Behrends: “This album is exactly what I needed to hear this morning! God always knows what to place in front of you when you need it most. Thank you for working so hard to share your amazing gift with all of us.”

* Nathan Mullins: “Love it! Wasn’t too excited after the first song, but the album gets better with every song that plays. Masterpiece in incredible.”

* Laura Smoter: “I’m super pumped! Can’t fall asleep because I just want to keep listening to you!!! The album is amazing!”

Danny also released the music video to the title track in the past week, I’ve embedded it below. The song “Rise” has climbed as high as number seven on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart and hit number four on the site’s Christian Airplay chart.

And fans of American Idol will definitely want to check out the ballad “Chasing.” It features a guest vocal from Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks, and certainly ranks as one of the album’s highlights.

Danny is also heading out on The Very Next Thing tour with Casting Crowns and Unspoken.

The tour lands at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Md., on Feb. 16, at the Liacouras Center in Philly on Feb. 18 and at the Giant Center in Hershey on April 28.

You can check out all the dates on Danny’s Facebook page.
