After The Voice

Dawn and Hawkes prepare to release first post-Voice album

0
of the most talented duos we’ve met on The Voice is about to release a debut album.

Pre-orders are underway on iTunes for Dawn and Hawkes’ “Yours and Mine,” set for an Oct. 2 release.

In fact, two songs — the title track and “Lightning Strikes” — are already available as individual downloads.

And the duo — they’re also a couple — released the video for the lovely title track a couple of weeks ago.

We met Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes during the first week of auditions for Season 6 of The Voice when they sounded so great together singing The Beatles ’ “I’ve Just Seen a Face” that Adam Levine called it the best audition he had heard on The Voice.

Lots of fans apparently agreed. Their cover of that tune was the best-selling among the first-week blind auditions songs.

They wound up advancing to the second battle round before being eliminated. Only one duo — The Swon Brothers in Season 3 — has advanced deeper into the competition.

Based in Austin, Texas, Miranda and Chris released a six-track EP called “Golden Heart” back in 2012. The upcoming album, partly funded by an indiegogo campaign, marks their first post-Voice release.

if you’d like to hear a live version of “Lightning Strikes,” head here.
