After The Voice

Ddendyl has fun giving a boyfriend the boot in new video

0
of my favorite songs released by a former Voice contestant this year now has a matching video.

Ddendyl released the video for her ridiculously catchy “Kicking and Screaming” this week.

The song is from a debut six-track EP called “Lonely Heart” that Ddendyl released back in May.

In the video, she bids a not-so-reluctant farewell to a boyfriend after their relationship has soured.

And though she was introduced to Voice viewers as a lounge singer from Washington, D.C., Ddendyl probably felt right at home on the dairy farm where the video was shot.

She grew up in the Castile, New York, area, where cows outnumbered people, Ddendyl and her dad told us on The Voice.

The video was shot on the Pankow Dairy Farm, near her hometown

Ddendyl was 25 when she auditioned for Season 6. She landed a spot on Team Shakira and advanced to the second battle round before being eliminated.

As for that EP, you should check it out if you haven’t yet. “Kicking and Screaming” is just one of the highlights.

My other favorite tracks are “Walls” and “Heart and Soul,” both of which feature Brandon Pritchett, an artist Ddendyl met while filming for The Voice.

You can keep track of Ddendyl through her website and Twitter at @ddendyl.
