If you missed the initial photo gallery, complete with photos of the performances by Carrie and Taylor and Daughtry, here’s the link.

Now, for those thoughts …

1) US Magazine.com has posed the question: Did Carrie Underwood pull a Kanye at the CMAs? They’re referring to the end of the show, when Brad was praising new Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift. Carrie jumped in with “And how were we (referring to herself and co-host Brad)? We were awesome.” Then she started laughing.

Well, number one, Taylor had already left the stage. Number two, I thought Carrie was trying to be humorous, just as the co-hosts had with their banter throughout the show. What do you think? Feel free to comment below. Here’s a link to a video of the exchange.

2) If anyone finds out how much Carrie’s CMA wardrobe cost, please let me know. I thought Brad Paisley was joking when he complimented Carrie on the dress she wore on stage at the start of the show, then added something along the lines of, “Wait until you see the next 14.”Kellie Pickler sports her new hair color while posing for photos before the CMA Awards. (AP Photo)She seemed to change outfits more often than in her “Cowboy Casanova” video, and that’s saying something.

3) One of the highlights of last night’s show was Chris Daughtry’s performance of “Tennessee Line,” with Vince Gill singing backing vocals. And quite nice of the CMAs to find a spot on the show for a performance by Idol’s most successful rocker.

4) Kellie Pickler needs to change her hair color back to blond. I mean, not to stereotype, but blond just fits the ditsy in her personality, irregardless of how much of that ditsy is an act. Last night, she had trouble — or at least pretended to have trouble — opening one of the award envelopes.

5) I read somewhere that Taylor’s win as top female vocalist was an upset (Carrie had won the award three years running).

An upset? The way Taylor’s “Fearless” album has performed on the country and cross-over charts this year? When two of the other lead contenders — Carrie and Miranda Lambert — hadn’t released new music until very recently? No folks, that was hardly an upset.

6) If Carrie was in any way perturbed by Taylor’s dominance of last night’s awards show, she’d better get used to it. We’re likely to see a repeat a next year’s Grammys.

Carrie has taken the Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance three years running. In 2010, that should rightly go to Taylor.
