Former Idol winner to appear on Jewel’s greatest hits

Jewel will be releasing a greatest hits album on Feb. 5.

And her collection of 16 songs will feature guest performers on two of her biggest hits.

Jewel's greatest hits album comes out Feb. 5.The Idol connection: Kelly Clarkson will join her on a version of the brilliant “Foolish Games.”

The album will also feature a version of “You Were Meant for Me” featuring Pistol Annies — yep, that’s Miranda Lambert’s all-girl group.

Plus there will be a new single on the album, “Two Hearts Breaking.”

You can head here to listen to a snippet of that song, and here to pre-order the album.

Jewel has an Idol link of her own, having served as a guest judge during the audition round one season (I honestly forget which.)

She’s also hosted and judged on Nashville Star, the show where Miranda got her start, and co-hosted and judged on the sole season of Platinum Hit with Kara DioGuardi in the summer of 2011.

Jewel fans — count me among them — will also be interested to know that her Greatest Hits Tour will bring her to Lancaster on March 14. Tickets are $53.

You can find out more about that show here.

Of course, Kelly would know a little about greatest hits albums, having just released hers. Kelly’s greatest hits collection is number 35 on the Billboard 200, seven weeks after its release.
