Damien Lawson has launched a KickStarter campaign to fund a debut EP

Season 7 Voice standout Damien Lawson is planning to release an EP.

And he’s asking for fans’ help through a KickStarter campaign he just launched.

“You guys have been asking, ‘When, when, when’ is my EP coming out,” Damien says in his KickStarter video. “In order to get it out any faster, I need your help.”

Of course, goodies come along with the help. Damien’s reward offers include a chance to participate in a photo shoot with him and a chance to appear in a music video.

Damien is trying to raise $50,000 through the effort, which runs until Nov. 17. You can find out more about the campaign here.

Performing on The Voice simply as Damien, he was 35 when he auditioned and landed a spot on Team Adam.

Once the show went live, Damien hit number one on the R&B/soul chart five times over a six-week span. Those number one songs include his Voice finale single, “Soldier.”

Damien, formerly a TSA agent at LAX airport, also has the distinction of earning the only wild card spot in The Voice finale to date.

He wound up finishing fourth behind Chris Jamison, Matt McAndrew and Craig Wayne Boyd.

That was a wrinkle added to the show’s format for Season 7. The wild card was not used in Season 8.
