Call it Ellen DeGeneres versus Paula Abdul round two.

I asked several more Idol fans what they thought of Ellen replacing Paula on the show at the Bucky Covington concert Sunday night. (Great show, by the way. Here’s the link to the review and photos, and I’ll throw in a couple of bonus photos with this blog.)

Their comments appear below. I’ll be asking more fans for their opinion at the David Cook show Friday night. And here’s a link to what fans at the Kelly Clarkson show had to say.

Have an opinion on the issue? Feel free to post your own thoughts in the comment section below.

Now, here’s what the fans at Bucky’s show had to say on the issue:

Meredith Baer, 42, of Shenandoah County, Va.: “I understand what they’re trying to do. They’re trying to get an everyday person, someone like us, to provide their opinion. But the contestants are supposed to be getting advice that can help them in their careers. I don’t know that she’ll be able to do that. I’ll be curious to see how it works out.”

Breanna Gruber, 25, of Dover: “I think she’ll give a good public perspective and she’ll bring some humor to the show. She’ll be watching it from our own perspective.”

Justin Gruber, 25, of Dover: “She (Ellen) isn’t an airhead like Paula. We won’t have to hear her ramble on about nothing.”

Shirley Smith, 68, of Gettysburg: “I like her (Ellen) personally. I just can’t picture her doing that (judging Idol). I’ll miss Paula.

Richard Smith, 69, of Gettysburg: “She (Ellen) does pretty good on her own show. But I can’t see her being a judge on Idol. They need someone who’s more music oriented.”

Paula Feeser, 31, of Dover: “I want Paula back. She was better at it. I just don’t like Ellen.”

Jessie Zurat, 14, of Schuylkill County, Pa.: “I’m going to miss Paula. She was the nicest one.”

I read that she’s going to be fair, not mean like Simon. For a replacement I don’t think they could have done better.”

Hilda Welby, of New Jersey: “I think she’ll be fabulous. She (Ellen) has a great sense of humor.”
Julie Meyers, 47, of Windsor: “She’ll probably do well. She’ll represent what the people think. I know some people think she doesn’t have the background. It’s hard to see Paula go, but I think Ellen is a good replacement.”

Kay Little, 59, of Stewartstown: “I think she’ll will be great (referring to Ellen). She’s a comedy person. She’ll make you laugh and she’ll be kind, not like Simon Cowell.”

Michele Siple, 40, of West York: “I think she’ll do OK. She (Ellen) can’t do any worse than Paula. I really didn’t care for Paula.”
