Idol results show: Danny, Alexis, Michael headed to finals

Well, we’re 20 minutes into tonight’s results show, and we’re already getting some results. That might set an Idol record.

But they’re starting off with the easy ones.

Casey Carlson, gone. Stephen Fowler, gone.

And now they’ve called Alexis to center stage. She’d better not be gone, or America got it wrong.

Great news, Alexis makes the top 12. Very deserving. She was the top performer Tuesday night.

But I’m a little worried. Earlier, during the clips from Tuesday’s show, they credited Tatiana with turning the night around. A warning of what’s to come?

Next to center stage, Ricky Braddy and Jackie Tohn. Not a good sign. Ricky’s about to get robbed. No way they’re going to fill two seats in the top 12 this early in a results show. He was the best male singer last night, but he entered the evening with virtually no pre-semifinal publicity … and he pays the price.

Anoop Desai and Michael Sarver are up next. Sounds like one will go through. It’s Michael Sarver. Good news. He wasn’t great last night, but I was hoping he’d get another chance.

So, anyone out there counting knows we’ve got just five contestants left, and two still awaiting their fate are Tatiana and Danny.

No way Danny didn’t make it. Things aren’t looking good for the drama queen.

By the way, Michael really needs to do a better job picking songs once the finals began. He just tried to sing “I Don’t Want To Be” again, and it didn’t sound any better than the first time around.

Next up: Stevie Wright, Brent Keith, Ann Marie Boskovich.

All three gone.

So it’s down to Tatiana and Danny. Boy, these producers really know how to set up the drama, don’t they? But Tatiana seems to be holding together surprisingly well.

Danny wins the third spot in the finals.

And a sigh of relief is heard all around Idol land.

Coming up next week:Megan Corkrey, Kris Allen, Mishavonna Henson, Matt Breitzke, Allison Ireheta, Matt Giraud, Jasmine Murray, Kai Kalama, Jesse Langseth, Adam Lambert, Jeanine Vailes, Nick Mitchell.
