Jake, Josh, Kristen in iTunes Top 10 for The Voice

4

It looks like a good ole boy just might be singing in The Voice finals next week.

I’m talking about Jake Worthington, who’s turning in an impressive performance on the iTunes charts after Monday’s Top 5 episode of The Voice.

As of noon, when iTunes’ tallies ended, Jake’s version of “Heaven” was sitting in the Top 10 on the iTunes overall singles chart.

Landing in the Top 10 earns a contestant bonus points toward advancing on the show. And toward their finale vote total, should they make it that far.

Jake’s early iTunes success goes beyond that song. As of 11 a.m., his cover of Waylon Jennings’ “Good Ole Boys” was the fourth most popular of the 10 songs from Monday’s show, cracking the iTunes Top 25. Oh, and “Heaven” is number one on the iTunes’ country chart.

As for those bonus points, The Voice can chalk some up for Josh Kaufman and Kristen Merlin as well. Both found one of their songs from Monday’s show sitting in the Top 10 when voting ended.

Here’s where all Monday’s songs were sitting at 12:30 p.m.

Oh, and the links attached to the names take you to a photo gallery of that singer from Monday night.

* Jake Worthington, “Heaven” — #3 on overall chart, #1 on country chart

Kristen and Josh definitely should move forward. They have grown the most and have stayed true and focused in the music they choose. Same for Jake. I wasn’t sure but last night he was great. I believe Christina and Kat have played with too many genre’s and have alienated themselves. Also I think Kat was flat and bearing down on her vocals when they should have been lifting. I think Christina was completely out of her element in both songs. Looked more like a dress up school show. They are all extremely talented but the voice is in the three I chose.
