Idol Chatter & Voice Views

A portion of the American Idol Season 11 cast took time out from their busy summer tour schedule to perform a concert on iHeart Radio Wednesday night.

Included in the show were Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon and Haley Reinhart, the third-place finisher from Season 10 who has since released a fine album called “Listen Up.” (Review here.)

Anyway, the big news of the night was that Jessica and Joshua performed new songs — “Fairytale” and “Broken Heart,” respectively.

Jessica’s song is a heck of a lot better than the “Change Nothing” turkey she would up singing in the Idol finale. Joshua’s song does a great job of allowing him to flaunt that brilliant voice, even if it does come off as a little over the top.
