have some catching up to do on releases I missed while blogging about American Idol and The Voice simultaneously this spring.

Among the catching up: Juliet Simms, runner-up on Season 2 of The Voice, has released a video for her song, “End of the World.”

You can check it out at right. It’s done throwback style, and the guy featured in the video is Juliet’s real-life boyfriend, Andy Biersack, frontman for the band Black Veil Brides.

Here’s how Juliet described “End of the World” to Entertainment Weekly: “This song is about how circumstances in your life can come crashing down and the pain can feel almost insurmountable. Often times these emotions lend themselves to feeling like it is the end of the world.”

It certainly led to an impassioned vocal from Juliet. Of course, that’s what we’ve come to expect from the former lead singer for Automatic Loveletter.

The song comes from Juliet’s “All or Nothing” EP, released in January. It’s one of the best releases of 2015 from a former contestant on The Voice. Other highlights include “Mystified” and “Evangeline.” And Biersack lends backing vocals on a ballad called “Not Broken Yet.”

This summer, Juliet will be out on the Vans Warped Tour, with stops planned in the Philly area on Friday, July 10, and at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., on Saturday, July 18.
