Kelly Clarkson tops Billboard’s dance chart, again

For all her chart success, Kelly Clarkson needed 10 years in the music business to find her way to the top of the Billboard dance/club play chart.

Now she’s done it three times in a little more than a year.

Last week, her latest single, “People Like Us,” moved up from number two to number one on that chart, displacing Nervo’s “Hold On.”

“People Like Us” also advanced to new highs of number eight on the adult pop song chart and moved up four spots to number 73 on the Hot 100 singles chart.

Kelly scored her first number one on the dance chart with “Stronger,” the lead single from the album of the same name.

She then duplicated that success last August when “Dark Side” reached the summit on the dance chart.

Other highlights from last week’s chart …

* Carrie Underwood’s “See You Again” was one of the big movers on the Hot 100, bolting up 11 spots from 62 to 51.

* Mandisa’s new single, “Overcomer,” is making similar waves on the Christian singles chart, jumping from 38 to 24 three weeks after its release.

* Five songs from The Voice cracked the Hot 100 singles chart, “Danny’s Song” by the Swon Brothers at 66, “Who I Am” from Danielle Bradbery at 78, “Turn the Page” from the Swon Brothers at 90, “Please Remember Me” from Danielle at number 91, and “Sad” from Amber Carrington at number 92.
