The Voice kicked off Monday, Feb. 3 with the coaching quartet of Adam Levine, John Legend, Michael Buble and Kelsea Ballerini.
New artists will be featured each Monday until the blind auditions conclude.
Here’s more about Jordan.
* He’s a veteran musican from southeastern Kentucky with lots of already released music.
* To date, that music has been released as Jordan Allen and the Bellwethers, a group that describes their sound as “southern rock meets the Appalachain Mountains.”
* Jordan’s released four albums with the Bellwethers — “Rare Breed” from 2016, “Weary in Well Doing” from 2019, “Give My Love to Jenny” from 2020 and “The Makings of a Man” from 2023.
* The latest Jordan Allen and the Bellwethers release is a really impressive single called “Bowling Green” that dropped in October.
* Bowling Green would be Bowling Green, Kentucky, where Jordan attended college for four years. “I did a lot of growing up,” he recalls of his time there. “I did a lot of good, and I made a lot of mistakes. Sometimes it feels like the mistakes outweigh the good I did there. I often reminisce about that time in my life. It’s this push and pull of regret and fondness. Funny how that happens.” He dedicates the song to those who knew him back then and thanks them for their “patience with me.”
* Jordan’s got another single coming out Tuesday, the day after the next Voice audition episode airs (hint, hint!). It’s called “I Got It Bad” and it’ll be his first release as just Jordan Allen. You can check out a snippet below and a full live version on Jordan’s YouTube channel.
* In a recent interview with Canvas Rebel, Jordan said he started playing the drums when he was 6, guitar when he was 14 and started singing and songwriting around age 15. “I’ve never really thought about doing anything else with my life.”
* That said, he told Canvas Rebel he was working a side job as a bank teller as recently as 2018 when he found himself being forced to cancel shows as a result. His wife had started to work for herself in the fitness industry and encouraged him to do the same.
* So he set a goal and decided to quit if he booked enough shows to meet it. “I worked my last day at the bank on September 28, 2018 and haven’t looked back,” he told the site.
* Oh, and Jordan also told the site he has “a ton” of new music ready to release this year.
