His audition: Jordon Kirkdorffer, 28, of Franklin, Tenn., auditioned with “In Case You Didn’t Know” by Brett Young. He prompted chair turns from Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.. The country singer opted to join Team Blake.

His background: He’s an accountant in Nashville. “I get to work with spreadsheets, which I know a lot of people don’t care for, but I absolutely love,” he says. But he calls music his passion and has been since he was young. He grew up in a small farming community. He says his family’s home is surrounded by corn fields on three sides and has 30,000 pigs, “so it’s a fairly big operation.” He recalls singing to the pigs. Oh, and his family tended to put him on stage to sing whenever the opportunity arose. He attended Belmont University and sings in church, but says he’s never really thrown himself out there as a musician “just because I wasn’t sure I could actually do it.”

What the show didn’t show:

* He might love spreadsheets, but on Facebook he calls music “my first true passion” and he recently posted a cover of Brett Eldredge’s “The Long Way,” calling it his first step back into music after passing his CPA exam. You can check that out below.

* Also on his Facebook page is an original he wrote with Emily Hackett called “Something ‘Bout Christmas.” It dates from 2014.

* In 2014, he competed in the Michiana Rising Star competition, a talent show featuring artists from northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan and aired by WNIT as a fundraiser for public television. He performed “Believe” and “I Drive Your Truck” on that show.

* On Facebook, he calls Garth Brooks his current and childhood hero.

* He’s a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville and worked as a brand management and publicity intern with Warner Music Nashville.

* After turning for his blind audition, Blake told Jordan he heard some George Strait in his voice. “Just for him to say that is a huge compliment,” Jordan said during a conference call with the media. “And now that I’ve got it on YouTube, I can watch it whenever I need a little pick-me-up.”

* He also said he’s not overly concerned about standing out among all the country artists on Team Blake because he considers his approach unique. “I’ve got that blend of soul and pop and country. I’m not super traditional country,” he said.

On picking Team Blake: “I actually asked both of them what they would change about my performance, for a kind of critique. And Blake gave me some very straight-forward and honest feedback. To me, that’s the whole reason I came on the show. For him to jump right in and start the coaching, that’s what I want. I want to be pushed and grow as an artist.”
