Paulina, Season 3, The Voice

Meet Paulina of Team Christina on The Voice

4

Paulina was one of three teenagers we met in rapid-fire fashion on the fourth blind audition episode of The Voice.

Shame, because she seems like quite the interesting character.

Her Voice bio tells us she likes to kickbox when she isn’t performing music.

And how did she plan to celebrate after landing a spot on Team Christina with a version of “You Make Me Feel?”

Well, Paulina told Christina Milian that she had to stop eating cheese for two weeks so she could sing. So she planned to go out and have a big steak with a side order of cheese.

The 16-year-old’s full name is Paulina Cerrilla. She’s a Houston, Texas, native who describes herself as an acoustic pop artist and headed to L.A. at a young age to pursue stardom, according to her website bio.

When stardom didn’t come calling all that quickly, Paulina writes that she posted a video of herself singing to YouTube, out of boredom as much as anything.

People watched, so she kept posting more videos. Today, her videos have attracted more than 26 million views, making her the female JR Aquino of Voice contestants.

Paulina also tells us that she started taking vocal lessons at age 7, started writing songs at age 9 and plays the guitar and piano.

At one point, it appears some of her original songs were posted to her website. They appear to be inactive now.

But her YouTube channel is alive and well and full of covers. Head here for a listen.

For convenience sake, I’ve embedded a couple of the most recent below.
