Red Marlow is one of the country singers who will compete on Season 13 of The Voice.
He’s a country music artist who’s been performing around Nashville and working toward his big break for some time now. On allmusic.com, his credits date back to 2002.
And remember what Blake Shelton did with veteran musicians like Craig Wayne Boyd and Sundance Head?
That’s right, he took them all the way to The Voice title.
Red’s a guy with three EPs worth of country music already to his credit. And those EPs are packed with songs that sound ready for country radio.
Just check out “Like Waylon,” “She Looks Good on Me” and “Whatcha Think About It,” all songs that prove Red can rock with a country twang. “Whatcha Think About It” has more than 100,000 plays on Spotify.
But he can also pull off a great ballad, like “Feel One Coming On” from his self-titled EP called simply “Red.”
According to his website bio, Red grew up in northern Alabama where his father was a preacher. One of his first performances came at age 6 when he was coaxed to sing “Amazing Grace” at his dad’s church.
“I was so little, they stood me up on a table so folks could see me,” Red recalls on his website. “After I got through singing, the church did a love offering, and I got $27. When you’re a kid, $27 is a fortune!”
By age 9, he was performing in church regularly, mostly bluegrass and southern gospel. And he’d been thoroughly bitten by the entertainment bug.
“All I have ever wanted to do was sing and make music,” he says.
