Season Two Contestants, Sera Hill, The Voice

Meet Sera Hill of The Voice (Team Christina)

Well, the premonition Sera Hill’s mother had didn’t quite come true.

In a pre-audition segment we didn’t get to see on The Voice, Sera Hill’s mom said she had a premonition that her daughter would one day work with Cee Lo Green.

“See was talking about Cee Lo for like a month straight,” Sera, 24, of Atlanta, Ga., says. “She said, ‘I think all you need to do is go find Cee Lo.'”

Only by the time Sera auditioned, Cee Lo’s team was full. So were Adam’s and Blake’s. But after passing on three or four other singers, Christina Aguilera turned around for Sera.

In fact, she was so moved by Sera’s version of Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down,” that she jumped up on stage to perform with her.

That match isn’t a bad one either. Sera admits she has all of Christina’s albums. In fact, the first concert she went to was a Justin Timberlake/Christina Aguilera show when she was in ninth grade.

Sera says she’s been singing since age 6. She told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that she appeared in several plays between the ages of 8 and 14 and studied theater for a while after high school.

She also spent about two years with a four-girl R&B group called Remedy (music here) , which she describes as “Destiny Child-ish.” If the group released any material, it isn’t available on iTunes.

Today, Sera describes her music as R&B with soul and “real singing.”

Prior to The Voice, she was working at the front desk of a hotel, but said she’s “that girl who’s been working and working toward her big break and never stopped.”

After all, she has carpe diem tattooed on her left wrist. Oh, and a bit of trivia from her blog: She has Black Sabbath on her iPod.

Here’s where you can find Sera on Facebook, where she goes by Sera, The Diva. On Twitter, you can follow her at SeraHillSings.

Now for some Sera Hill music.
