cover of his new single, 'Ferris Wheel.'In case you missed it, season eight American Idol contestant Michael Sarver has a new single out.

And he visited Pennsylvania last weekend, for a good cause.

The new single is called “Ferris Wheel.” It’s the second song Michael has released from his upcoming country album, due out in July the last I heard.

You can listen to “Ferris Wheel” and another Michael song, “Cinderella Girl” by heading to his MySpace page. The song is available on iTunes.

A video for “Ferris Wheel” is apparently also in the works. Here’s a link to a series of photos from the video shoot.

As for the good deed, Michael was on hand for the March for Babies event, organized by the March of Dimes at Dorney Park near Allentown last Sunday.

Michael sang the national anthem to kick off the event, then performed with a local band named The Gritzz at the end of the walk.

How did Michael, the former oil rig worker from Jasper, Texas, wind up at a fundraiser in Allentown?

Deborah Pollock, division director for the March of Dimes in Northeastern Pennsylvania, said one of the walkers in the event followed Michael on
American Idol, then tweeted with him about how great it would be if he were involved in the event.

The March of Dimes contacted his management and, come Sunday, Michael was in Allentown.

“Everyone seemed to enjoy him,” Pollock said. “He was so gracious and kind.”

Yep, sounds like Michael.

The walk, meanwhile, included 5,500 participates and raised about $430,000.

Michael will return to the state Saturday, June 19, playing at Bourbon Blue in Philly.
