I’ve long argued American Idol should bring back more past contestants as guest performances.

Well, Idol is certainly planning to do that for the Thursday, April 7, finale.

Today, Idol released the list of former finalists who will take the stage that night.

Check it out:

From Season 1: Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, Tamyra Gray

From Season 2: Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Kimberley Locke

From Season 3: Fantasia, Diana DeGarmo, George Huff, LaToya London

From Season 4: Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice, Constantine Maroulis

From Season 5: Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee, Elliott Yamin, Chris Daughtry, Kellie Pickler, Ace Young, Bucky Covington

From Season 6: Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis, Melinda Doolittle, Brandon Rogers, Sanjaya Malakar

From Season 7: David Cook, Carly Smithson

From Season 8: Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Allisan Iraheta

From Season 9: Lee DeWyze, Casey James

From Season 10: Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Pia Toscano

From Season 11: Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon, Skylar Laine

From Season 12: Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, Amber Holcomb

From Season 13: Caleb Johnson

From Season 14: Nick Fradiani, Clark Beckham

That’s quite a list, right?

It should be noted that Kelly Clarkson’s performance will be pre-taped since she’s pregnant.

And I’m a little disappointed that some of my favorites — like Crystal Bowersox and Brooke White — are missing from the list.

Still, it sounds like must-see TV for fans of American Idol. The fun starts at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7.

And the season finale will be preceded by a 90-minute look back at Idol on Tuesday and a one-hour performance finale that Wednesday.
