Brooke White released Songs in the Attic before she appeared on Idol; her first post-Idol album will be released in July

It’s new music Tuesday, and what would a new music Tuesday be without new releases from American Idol contestants.

Not only is Michael Johns’ new CD — “Hold Back My Heart” — now available everywhere, but a new single from Brooke White is now available through iTunes.

It’s called “Radio, Radio” and it’s the tune Brooke posted on her MySpace page a couple of weeks ago. You can still hear a one-minute snippet of it there. It’s a catchy tune. I listened to the snippet again last night, then had “Radio, Radio” stuck in my head for hours.

Thanks, Brooke.

Anyway, it’s the second single that the season seven contestant has released from her first post-Idol album, “High Hopes and Heartbreak.” The album hits stores July 21.

Brooke’s MySpace page has been revamped for the occasion, including an offer of a backstage pass that provides access to behind-the-scenes videos, photos and more.

The MySpace page also includes a new bio for Brooke that says she was involved in every aspect of her new album, down to choosing the cover art and designing the CD booklet.

Says Brooke: “It’s an art journal I have kept, with drawings, paintings, photographs and hand-written lyrics. This will also be an interactive part of my Web site. Music has become such a digital experience that the visual and more artistic side of albums is almost lost. It really was important to me to incorporate something very artistic and personal in making ‘High Hopes And Heartbreak.’”

What’s more, Brooke just launched a new Web site, realbrookewhite.com. You can sign up for the backstage pass from that site too.
