If you’ve been wanting to see Josh Kaufman perform in Pippin’ on Broadway, you won’t want to wait much longer.

And if you’e eager to hear new music from The Voice Season 6 champ, you might not have to wait much longer.

Josh became the first Voice winner to head to Broadway when he joined the Pippin’ cast, playing the title role beginning Nov. 4.

The show will end its run at New York’s Music Box Theatre on Jan. 4, after more than 700 performances.

Pippin’ — with Kyle Dean Massey in the lead role — won a 2013 Tony for best Broadway revival.

In a recent interview with BroadwayWorld.com, Josh explained how The Voice sorta prepared him for his Broadway debut.

“I don’t normally get very nervous before I perform, but The Voice really threw me into that,” he said. “I always felt nerves. Always. It was a very stressful situation to be in, honestly.

“It was so much fun, but you feel this constant pressure, even when you’re not performing because you’re preparing and you’re thinking: ‘Have I chosen the right song? Is this gonna work?’ … There’s so much running through your head.

“I think that whole experience helped to prepare me for anything that comes along. It helped me to handle that type of pressure and to get into different situations, where maybe I’m not 100% comfortable, but to learn how to handle them and stay calm.”

As for new music, Josh is apparently still planning a debut single in early 2015. On Facebook, he writes that details about his first single are just around the corner and posted a photo of himself with producers Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken, who have worked with Rihanna and Christina Aguilera.

And he’s already promoting a non-Pippin’ show back in his home state of Indiana, set for April 25.
