Kevin Loibl, the man who killed Voice singer Christina Grimmie, then took his own lifeThe man who shot and killed Christina Grimmie was fixated on the 22-year-old singer, according to documents released Wednesday by the Orlando Police Department.

Grimmie was murdered June 10 while signing autographs and meeting fans following a performance at The Plaza Live in Orlando.

Her killer, 27-year-old Kevin Loibl, was tackled by Christina’s brother, but escaped his grasp and killed himself. Police have closed the investigation into the murder-suicide.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, documents released by police reveal that:

* A friend of Loibl’s told police he believed the shooter “spent most of his waking hours watching Christina on YouTube as well as constantly monitoring her social media accounts.”

* His father told police Loibl lived “like a hermit,” usually leaving his room only to go to his job at Best Buy, where he had worked for eight years.

* Loibl told the friend he considered Grimmie his “soul mate” and that, if there was a God, he saw it in her.

* In recent months, Loibl had lost 50 pounds, got Lasik eye surgery and whitened his teeth, presumably in an effort to appear more attractive to Grimmie.

* Police said Loibl never met Grimmie. They were unable to access his encrypted cell phone and the hard drive from his computer had been destroyed.

* On the night of the concert, police said Loibl watched from the back of the room, then approached Grimmie as she met fans. He shot her four times, once in the head and three times in the torso. She died after being rushed to the hospital.

* Police said Loibl had no criminal history or documented history of mental illness, so he was able to legally purchase the two handguns he took to the show at the The Plaza Live. They were purchased on May 25 and June 1.

Grimmie was buried in a private service last Thursday, but thousands turned out for a memorial service in her honor the following day in New Jersey and a GoFundMe account launched to support her family has raised $192,000, far above the initial goal of $4,000.

According to E! News, her brother addressed the crowd at the memorial service, saying “all the rumors are true that when the gunman came … her arms were open. That’s how she treated everyone she knew, her arms were open for them.”
