American Idol Season 11 champ Phillip Phillips was supposed to perform to a sold-out crowd at the Pullo Center on the Penn State York campus next Wednesday.

But that date has been postponed along with the remainder of Phillip’s spring tour dates as a result of illness, according to a release issued by the Pullo Center today.

Phillip Phillips will tour with John Mayer this summer. The release says the Pullo Center got news Sunday that Phillip wouldn’t be performing in York. A rescheduled date has not yet been set. Further details will be released when available, the Pullo Center said.

All previously purchased tickets will be valid for future show. Refunds are also available at the point of purchase.

Th release also included the following statement from Phillip’s management: “Due to several medical reasons, Phillip Phillips will not be able to conclude his remaining tour dates in May. He looks forward to getting healthy, seeing everyone on the John Mayer tour this summer, and rescheduling the shows he missed for the fall.”

No word on whether the medical reasons are related to the kidney problems Phillip endured while making his run toward the Season 11 American Idol title.

Shortly after winning, he underwent a surgery to remove kidney stones. He recovered in time to participate in the Idol summer tour, which kicked off last July.

In addition to York, Phillip had shows scheduled in Elkins, W.Va.; Springfield, Ohio; and Newark, Ohio, next week. He has also postponed shows planned in Wisconsin this week.

Phillip didn’t disclose what the medical issues were, but did post this message on Twitter Monday: “Hey, guys, due to doctor’s orders, I have to reschedule my last tour dates. They will be rescheduled! Looking forward to seeing you on the Mayer.”
