Phillip Phillips, former American Idol champ, is about to release his new album.

We’re less than a week away from the release of “Collateral,” the new album from Phillip Phillips.

So Phillip served up a new treat to fans on Friday, releasing “Into the Wild.” It’s the fourth song from the album that’s already available to those who pre-ordered or just can’t wait to get their hands on new music from American Idol’s Season 11 champ.

“So excited to share this new music with y’all,” he tweeted. “I can promise you it will be worth the wait! Wanted to give you one last sneak peek of the album.”

Phillip, now 27 hasn’t released an album since mid-May 2104. “Behind the Light” wound up debuting at number seven on the Billboard 200.

The time in between albums was punctuated by a lawsuit Phillip filed against his label in January 2015. The case was settled last May; the new album will once again be released under the 19 Recordings / Interscope banner.

Other tracks already released include “Magnetic,” “Miles” and the wonderful ballad “Dance with Me,” which Phillip and a friend wrote for Phillip’s own wedding as a tribute to his bride.

“These songs tell the stories about the past three years – all the good, all the bad, all the sad, all the happy,” Phillip wrote on Facebook when he announced the new album, which drops Friday.

Phillip will be following up that release with a 40-plus date tour that will include stops in Philly and Silver Spring, Md.

The Magnetic Tour kicks off Feb. 9 in Cherokee, N.C. The Philly stop is Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Union Transfer. The same Saturday (Feb. 17), he’ll be playing The Filmore in Silver Spring, Md.

Check out all the tour dates on Phillip’s Facebook page.

As for “Into the Wild,” here’s that new song.
