Back in the summer of 2009, before appearing at the York Fair, Bucky Covington said he was all set to release a sophomore album.

Three years later, it looks like it will happen.

According to a press release about Bucky’s new video shoot, he’ll release an album called “Good Guys” on Sept. 9.

Bucky, now 34, placed eighth on Season 5 of Idol, meaning expectations probably weren’t very high once he left the show.

All he did was release a debut album that debuted at number on on Billboard’s country chart and spawned three top 20 country singles, including “A Different World,” which climbed all the way to number six.

That was back in 2007.

Flash forward to 2012 and Bucky has a new single out, “I Wanna Be That Feeling.”

And he’s about to release another, “Drinking Side of Country,” a duet with Shooter Jennings.

Last week, the two filmed the music video for the song in the small town of Greensburg, Kentucky, complete with a car and a cameo appearance by Season 5 Idol colleague Kellie Pickler.

The song was written by Bucky, twin brother Rocky and Ducky Medlock.
