Scott MacIntyre has started work on a second album and is looking for fans to support the endeavor. Scott, now 28, is looking to raise $25,000 via the campaign by Oct. 14.

As of Thursday, he had raised $9,565 of that goal, courtesy of 45 supporters.

On his Kickstarter page, Scott writes that he’s spent the last several months collaborating with “incredible songwriters” in Nashville and is anxious for the public to hear those songs.

Of course, you don’t have to cough up $400 to support the effort. For instance, $10 will get you a digital download of the album two weeks before it’s official release; $20 will get you a CD of the album in the same time frame.

Scott, who is also working on a Christmas album to be released this fall, apparently anticipates releasing this album next March.

After finishing eighth on Season 8 of Idol, Scott released an album called “Heartstrings” in March 2010. The album debuted at number 18 on the iTunes pop album chart, but failed to crack the Billboard 200.

Now, here’s one of Scott’s new songs, “Letters.”
