Sam Woolf (middle) and the Como Brothers have released their debut single.

A 2015 show at Webster Hall in New York yielded unexpected results for former American Idol standout Sam Woolf.

That night he met Long Island singer-songwriters the Como Brothers — Matt and Andrew.

Soon, they were hanging out together after shows. Eventually, they began writing songs together as well.

They released their first single, the catchy and soulful “On It,” at the start of this month. And more music is coming in the form of a six-track EP called “Backbeat in the Morning” that will be released later this year.

In a blog on the Como Brothers website, they write that the collaboration works because the three “have similar tastes in music — a love for rock, folk, hip-hop, blues, and pop music” that they’ve learned to blend together for their own unique sound.

As for “On It,” the blog describes the single as being “about chasing ones dreams, constantly being on top of everything, and having a one-track mind that thinks only of succeeding in music.”

Sam, Matt and Andrew also plan to tour together to promote the EP and may be releasing more songs from it as singles before the full EP drops.

And while they hope to continue working together, the collaboration doesn’t mean Sam has stopped working on solo music.

In fact, he’s anticipating the release of a six-track acoustic EP funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign last year.

Since finishing fifth on Season 13 of American Idol, Sam has released an EP (“Pretend” in 2015) and a trio of singles, “Stop Thinking About It” (2016), “Fast ‘n’ Dirty” and “Call Me Crazy” (both 2017).

And he’s actually featured on a cover of “Hey Jude” that the Como Brothers included on their 2015 “Live at 89 North” EP.

Here’s “On It.”
