Season 6 Voice standout Jake Barker treats fans to video series

6 The Voice standout Jake Barker is serving up new music for his fans one song at a time.

Jake is promising to post a video of an original song on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.

This week’s song is called “Perfect” and is one of Jake’s best so far.

You can check it out at right; it’s also available as a single on iTunes.

In the off weeks? Jake says we can anticipate lots of covers.

For instance, two weeks ago, he posted a mashup cover of Destinys Child’s “Say My Name,” Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River,” and Jay-Z’s “Song Cry.” That’s available on iTunes as well.

Jake was 28 when he auditioned for Season 6 of The Voice. Though he had a decent following on YouTube already, he said his blind audition represented his first live performance.

He wound up advancing to the Top 20 before being eliminated.

Since then, he’s released a pair of EPs — “Stage Fright” in 2014 and “Trip” late last year.

His first original video in this new series was “Under Pressure,” on of the three songs from that 2015 EP.

You can check out Jake’s weekly video releases on his YouTube channel. On Twitter, he’s @IamJakeBarker.
