Want some reasons to get excited about Season 10 of The Voice?

Well, I’ve spent a lot of time over the past week listening to pre-show music from this year’s Top 48.

And, wow, are we in for a treat.

We’re going to meet the woman who played “Curly Sue” back in 1991 and is now a talented singer-songwriter. We’re going to meet a young woman who toured with Prince. We’re going to meet a country singer who recorded an album of duets with the likes of Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard.

And so, so many other talented singers. It’s been a while since I heard such an impressive array of pre-show music.

Now, let’s just hope Mark Burnett and his wife haven’t selected the Season 10 winner before the first audition airs. (Sorry, the excessive pimping of Jordan Smith ruined Season 9; his voice could have spoken for itself).

And let’s just hope Season 10 offers more drama than Season 8, when we knew Sawyer Fredericks would win long, long before the finals arrived.

Anyway, I’ve been featuring some of my favorite pre-Voice songs from the Season 10 cast in the featured video spot on this blog for the past week. Now it’s time to put them all in one place for your listening pleasure.

So here they are, seven reasons to get excited about Season 10 of The Voice.

Check back for a live blog Monday night when the blind auditions begin. And in coming weeks, I’ll be posting “meet the singer” blogs on each member of the Top 48.
