Shalyah Fearing finished in the Top 8 on The Voice Season 10

Now that Season 13 of The Voice is over, I’ve got some catching up to do on past contestants.

Let’s start off with Shalyah Fearing, a talented young lady who auditioned for The Voice at age 15 and made it all the way to the Top 8 back in Season 10.

Shalyah, now 17, recently released her debut single, “I’ll Get Over You,” which you can check out below.

“My song talks about being hurt by someone you love and that is something we can all relate to,” Shalyah writes on her SoundCloud. “But eventually, over time, you will get over it. Hopefully.”

A native of Hudson, Fla., Shalyah is the second oldest of eight children in her family. She began singing at age 5 and performed with some of those siblings in a family band called FearingStar before appearing on The Voice.

Her run on the show started with a blind audition that turned just one chair, Christina Aguilera’s. But she made the most of her opportunity.

She wound up being stolen by Adam Levine. And when Team Pharrell and Team Adam performed in the Season 10 playoffs, Shalyah scored the biggest hit of the night, reaching number 14 on iTunes and number one on the site’s R&B singles chart with a cover of Beyonce’s “Listen.”

Here’s the new song.
