Taylor Phelan, a Top 20 finisher on Season 7 of The Voice, has a new video out and will release a new EP by the end of the month.

If you’re a fan of Season 7 Voice standout Taylor Phelan, you’re in luck, because there’s a lot happening with the indie rock singer-songwriter.

He just released the music video for “Settle Down,” a song he released earlier this summer. He’ll have an EP out by the end of the month. And he’s out on a tour that will include a stop in nearby Lancaster, Pa.

The music video is quite simply one of the most imaginative we’ve gotten from a Voice contestant all year. And it’s a great match for a song about the breakdown in our ability to communicate civilly about differences of opinion on key issues.

Said Taylor about the song when it was released in mid-June: “There’s so much tension in the world and for good reason. But in the middle of everyone’s fear, we’re forgetting that it’s another person on the other side of the argument.

“This song is a reminder to try and see things from someone else’s point of view. Humans interacting is never easy, which is why empathy is an important thing to practice.”

“Settle Down” is the lead single from a seven-track EP called “1 of 2” that will be released Aug. 18. Pre-orders are underway now. And if you’d like a physical copy of the EP, those are available from Taylor’s website.

Oh, and if you’re wondering about that title — yep, you guessed it. Taylor is working on a Part II EP as well.

Now, as for that tour, Taylor has more than 20 dates scheduled. They include a stop at the Tellus360 in Lancaster on Aug. 12.
