After The Voice

The Swon Brothers celebrate prize tour gig with a new EP

The Swon Brothers Timeless EPThe Swon Brothers are one of the opening acts on Carrie Underwood’s “Storyteller” tour, which kicked off Saturday night in Jacksonville, Fla.

And the Season 4 standouts from The Voice celebrated by releasing new music, a six-track EP called “Timeless.”

The EP hit iTunes Friday, just days after the brothers posted a photo of the cover with the message that new music was coming soon — but with no release date.

Despite that and the fact that the six-track EP was released independently, it soared to number two on iTunes country music chart, trailing only Chris Stapleton’s “Traveler.” And it was still at number three on iTunes 24 hours after its release.

Oh, and Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Carrie have all sent out Tweets to help spread the word about the new music.

Standouts among the six tracks on the EP include the ridiculously catchy title tune and the uptempo “Killing Me.” You can check out an acoustic version of the latter below.

The Swon Brothers remain the most successful duo ever to compete on The Voice — finishing third in Season 4 — and one of the most successful non-winners once leaving the show.

Their self-titled post-Voice debut album hit number six on the Billboard country albums chart and number 28 on the Billboard 200, yielding a Top 20 country single called “Later On.”

As for that tour, remember that it includes three stops in Pennsylvania and one in D.C. as follows:

Feb. 17: Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh

Feb. 22: Wells Fargo Center in Philly

Feb. 25: The Verizon Center in D.C.

March 19: The PL Center in Allentown, Pa.

Saturday night, Zach and Colton were meeting fans and singing autographs prior to Carrie taking the stage. You can check out some photos and reaction to their performance on their Twitter page.

“Dear @carrieunderwood,” they tweeted earlier this week, “TY for letting us join YOUR #thestorytellertour. We can never repay your kindness.”
