Adam Levine and Christina GrimmieAs police continue to investigate the shooting death of Christina Grimmie, The Voice coaches have taken to Twitter to express their condolences.

Christina finished third on Season 6 of The Voice as a member of Team Adam. Adam tweeted out the photo at right of he and Christina a couple of hours ago.

The other coaches that season were Usher and Shakira. Here are the tweets from the coaches so far.

Blake Shelton: “I’m stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl… Keeping @TheRealGrimmie family in my heart and mind.”

Adam Levine: “Behati and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie’s death. Our hearts go out to her family.”

Usher: “To an amazing soul and voice…may your legacy live on forever. Rest in peace beautiful, Christina.”

Christina Aguilera: “So sad passing of @TheRealGrimmie. Beautiful member of #TheVoice family & true #Fighter. My heart goes out to her family, friends & fans. xo”

Pharrell Williams:
“This is a tragic loss. My heart goes out to @TheRealGrimmie’s family, friends and all the people that she touched.”

Condolences continue to pour in from former contestants as well.

As for police, their investigation so far indicates that Christina was killed by a 27-year-old male who traveled from another city in Florida to specifically target her following her show at The Plaza Live.

Police say they don’t believe Christina and the killer knew one another and are hoping to search the man’s cell phone and computer for hints as to his motive.

Police are applauding Christina’s brother, Marcus, for tackling the man after he shot Christina. They note that he was armed with two guns and could have harmed others. He wound up taking his own life.

Police haven’t released the man’s identify, but say they plan to intend to later today.

“We know people want some answers to these questions as to why this person may have done that and who it is,” Orlando Police Chief John Mina said.

Condolences also continue to pour from former contestants, all of whom are praising Christina for being humble, loving and totally dedicated to her fans. Just hours before her death, all smiles, she took to Twitter with a video post encouraging fans in the Orlando area to attend her show at The Plaza Live, where she was opening for the band, Before You Exit.

Chris Mann from Season 2, who toured with Christina, has written an emotional post on Facebook, pointing to the incident as why more needs to be done in terms of gun control. Among the more touching tributes, is one on Instagram from Season 7’s Beth Spangler.

And then there’s this, from fellow Season 6 contestant Bria Kelly, who describes Christina as her best friend and posted a photo of them joking around together just two days ago: “Today, my sadness has transformed into the most intense anger known to mankind.”
