The Voice’s Juhi is back with a ‘Stress Case’ EP

Add Juhi to the list of former contestants from The Voice who have released music since appearing on the show.

And, in this case, it didn’t take long.

Juhi landed a spot on The Voice singing "Mercy" for her blind audition in Season 5 and has now released her own EP.

Juhi landed a spot on The Voice singing “Mercy” for her blind audition in Season 5 and has now released her own EP called “Stress Case.”

Juhi Pathak, you might recall, was a contestant on Season 5 last fall.

Just 16 at the time of her audition, the gal from Franklin, Tenn., was a member of Team Cee Lo and then was stolen by Adam Levine during the battle round.

She was eliminated in the knockout round by eventual fifth-place finisher James Wolpert.

Last week, Juhi released a five-track EP called “Stress Case.”

Yes, Juhi admits on Facebook, she’s a total stress case. And the EP’s first track is “Chill Pills.”

On The Voice, Juhi said she’d like to become a cross between Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain, and you can hear a little of that in the quirky new music.

My favorite track is the splendid single “Welcome To Catatonia,” which I’ve embedded below.

Before you download, you can check out all five full-length tracks on Juhi’s SoundCloud page.

Then again, if you listen to the song below, the rest of the tunes will follow. The EP hit iTunes last Tuesday.

Editor’s note: Followers of The Voice will notice a couple of new features in this blog. Go to the blue bar at top, click on The Voice and you’ll find a list of all the singers who have landed on teams through Season 5. The links, in most cases, lead you to a bio of each singer. Click on “After The Voice,” and you’ll find a rundown of the music past contestants have released since they appeared on the show, through the end of 2013. If I missed anything, let me know. I’m also now tweeting Voice related items under a Voice specific Twitter account — aptly called VoiceViews — for those of you who don’t follow that other singing show. Live blogging for Season 6 starts Monday.

Has there been a glitch with your server lately? I’ve been trying to utilize your site for the last week or so and was told that I needed a username & password.

Yes. The blog was down for a few days. It’s back now. Fingers crossed, it will stay that way.
