Three former American Idol finalists will be performing in Hagerstown, Md., this weekend.
That trio includes LaKisha Jones and Haley Scarnato from Season 6 and Matt Giraud from Season 8.
And if that sounds like an odd trio to have performing together, it’s likely by design.
They are performing as part of Symphony Idol, traveling across the country to perform with a host of symphony orchestras.

And the diverse set list should play to each of the former Idol’s strengths since it includes songs like “Georgia on My Mind,” “The Devil Goes Down to Georgia,” “Proud Mary” and lots of other classics.

Matt, 28, placed fifth on Season 8 of Idol and has the distinction of being the first contestant ever “saved” on the show. He hasn’t released any solo material since then, but did record a duet of “You Don’t Know Me” with Anna Wilson that hit the top of iTunes’ jazz chart.
Haley, 31, is working on a debut country album, according to her Twitter account, and has been performing with a band called Fairchild in Las Vegas. She placed eighth back on Season 6 of Idol.
LaKisha, 33, also made the finals during Season 6, eventually finishing fourth behind Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis and Melinda Doolittle. She released a solo R&B album called “So Glad I’m Me” in 2009 and was last seen as a contestant on NBC’s “The Winner Is.” In fact, she appeared in the show’s premiere, but was eliminated in the first round.
The Symphony Idol tour began in Anchorage earlier this month. Dates in Phoenix, Ariz. (Sept. 27 and 29), and Spokane, Wash. (Oct. 19) are also planned so far, though Haley writes on Facebook that she hopes to post future dates soon.
