David Archuleta will perform at Hersheypark Stadium on Aug. 21

So here it is, the ticket information for David Archuleta’s Friday, Aug. 21, concert at the Star Pavilion at Hersheypark Stadium.

Tickets go on sale 9 a.m. Saturday. Reserved tickets are available for $125 (ouch!) and $49.50. Lawn tickets are $39.50.

Of course, you’re not just paying to see David, last year’s runner-up on Idol. The headliner for the tour is Demi Lovato, 16, of Disney Channel fame. She already has a tour with the Jonas Brothers, a movie (“Camp Rock), more than 1 million digital downloads and a hit album (“Don’t Forget”) on her list of accomplishments.

Also performing will be Jordan Pruitt, 17, another performer with Disney links and another singer who has toured with the Jonas Brothers. She apparently has two albums to her credit — “No Ordinary Girl” (2007) and Permission to Fly (2008).

Tickets for the show are available at Livenation.com, HersheyEntertainment.com, the Giant Center Box Office and by calling 717-534-3911 or 877-598-6504.

Hershey just announced that the wristband policy will be in effect for ticket sales. Here’s how it works, straight from the park’s press release.

“Fans are permitted on the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex property beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday. Two hours prior to the on-sale, fans are directed in front of Giant Center Box Office, where they are issued a numbered wristband.

Wristbands are available for one hour, and at the conclusion of that hour, a selected fan will randomly select a wristband that will determine the line order. For example: if 1,000 wristbands are issued during that hour and the number 500 is selected, the person wearing wristband 500 will be the first person in line. Numbers 501 to 1,000 will proceed in line behind, followed by numbers 1 through 499.

Once the line is in place, everyone arriving after the wristbands were issued will be escorted to the end of the numbered line.”

Hopefully, young David will get the chance to enjoy some of the rides while he’s at Hershey. Judging from a blog he posted Monday, he missed out on that opportunity during a recent appearance at the IX Indoor Amusement Park in Cleveland because he got sick.Judging from his MySpace blog posts, staying healthy is something of a challenge for David. Singing well isn’t. We heard proof of that again Wednesday night on Idol.

For those who just can’t wait until August to see Demi and David appear live, they have two other tour stops in Pennsylvania — June 22 at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre and June 27 at the Mann Music Theater in Philadelphia. Tickets for those shows also go on sale Saturday.
