He might not have won American Idol, but Adam Lambert is grabbing the most post-Idol headlines among season eight contestants.

This morning, he debuted “For Your Entertainment,” the first single from his debut album on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.

And this week, the song he recorded for the “2012” soundtrack hit the Billboard charts.

“Time for Miracles” checked in at number 50 on the Hot 100 and number 21 among digital songs. The only Idol single to do better: Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone.”

Here’s a rundown on how the other Idols fared this week on the Billboard music charts.

David Archuleta: His Christmas album tumbled from 30 to 71 on the Billboard 200, but is still the third most popular holiday CD on the charts. The only ones that are more popular come from Bob Dylan and Taylor Swift.

Kelly Clarkson: “Already Gone,” Kelly’s third single of the year, didn’t exactly leap up the charts, but it’s making its mark. The song moves from 12 to 10 among pop singles and from 20 to 17 on the Hot 100. It was also the most popular download of the week among songs from Idols at number 20 on Billboard’s digital chart.

Kelly’s album is number 93 on the Billboard 200, up one spot from last week.

Daughtry:
The “Leave This Town” album slips four spots on the Billboard 200, from 50 to 54.

Blake Lewis: “Sad Song,” lead single from Blake’s new album, continues to do well on the dance/club play chart, advancing from number 17 to number 13.

Mandisa: “He Is with You,” her second single from her new album, cracks the top 25 on the Christian songs chart for the first time, moving up from 26 to 21 this week.

Kellie Pickler: Forty-five weeks after its release, Kellie’s second album is still clinging to a spot in the Billboard 200, even if it fell from 157 to 173 this week. It’s number 33 on the country albums chart.

Jordin Sparks: Her new album showed very little staying power on the Billboard 200, but she has a dance hit on her hands with “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play). It jumped from number eight to five on the dance/club play chart this week.

“Battlefield,” her earlier single, is number 17 on the adult contemporary chart; but dropped from 18 to 20 on the pop singles chart.

Phil Stacey: “You’re Not Shaken,” Phil’s first single off his new album, moves up from 21 to 18 on the Christian singles chart.

Carrie Underwood: “Cowboy Casanova” stalled at number five on the country singles chart this week. It dropped from 19 to 21 on the Hot 100.

Perhaps more indicative of the interest in her new album: “Temporary Home” checked in at number 92 among the Hot 100 singles. It was released Tuesday exclusively through iTunes as part of a single-a-week promotion leading up to the Nov. 3 release of the album, “Play On.”
