Well, that was fast.

On Monday, Ellie Lawrence, fresh off The Voice, launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $5,000 for her first EP.

By midnight ET Wednesday, the 26-year-old from Calhoun, Ga., had hit that goal.

By 10:30 a.m. this morning, her campaign had raised $5,135 with 28 days to go.

Ellie’s response on Twitter: “Seriously cannot believe how y’all pulled together and made this happen for me. I’m so thankful and grateful and happy!!!

“Do y’all think we could get this up to $7K and add on a cute music video for the first single?”

Probably.

Ellie sang for Team Gwen on this season of The Voice and scored an iTunes hit with her blind audition cover of “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off.”

She returned to the show for the live playoffs via the coach comeback selection. But she was eliminated when Jeffery Austin and Braiden Sunshine won the fan voting and Gwen Stefani selected Korin Bukowski as the third artist to represent her team in the Top 12.

In an interview with Voice Views late last month, Ellie said she was finishing up the writing stage for a debut EP and had written many of the songs during her time on the show.

She also said the time she got to spend with Gwen “really changed my perspective on music.”

“I realized that (there are) so many different elements to building your artistry, and it started with confidence,” she adds. “I learned how to believe in myself and push myself out of my comfort zone.”

According to the Kickstarter campaign, digital copies of the new EP could be delivered to backers as early as January with physical copies available by February.
