Wasting no time, Joe Kirk releases a post-Voice single

Joe KirkUnder the category of striking while the iron is hot, Joe Kirk has released a new single.

Yep, the same Joe Kirk who turned four chairs earlier this fall with his blind audition performance of “Lego House” during Season 7 of The Voice.

Joe’s run on the show came to a surprisingly quick end when he was upset in a Team Adam Levine battle round match by Alessandra Castronovo.

That night, he posted this to Twitter: “May be a little sad right now, but still smiling because there’s more to come. I am going to make you guys so proud.”

The first installment of the “more to come” landed last week, when he released a song called “Believe” to iTunes.

Joe said he’s thankful to The Voice for putting him in a national spotlight, but wanted to release a single quickly to give fans “a taste of my songs and my style.”

“Believe” is a song he wrote with his brother Stephen. The message is a simple one.

“Sometimes people give up on things that are worth saving or fighting for,” Joe says. “Dreams, relationships … whatever it may be, it all starts with one key action … you have to believe that what you are fighting for, what you are holding on to, is worth pouring your heart into. Then sometimes you have to convince others to believe with you.”

Joe says he’s busy writing lots of new music and is looking for producers to collaborate with. He hopes to release an EP next spring.

Just 17 at the time of his audition, he calls his experience on the show “amazing.”

“I will always consider having been part of Adam Levine’s team an honor,” he said. “I took his advice to heart and did my best to improve throughout the whole process.

“And, I feel like the luckiest person on the whole show to have had Pharrell Williams speak to me straight from the heart and encourage me to keep going, the night I was eliminated. At my lowest point, he made me believe that the end of that show for me was just the beginning. I hope to someday thank him in person. That was a defining moment for me.”

Joe resides in Nashville, where his brothers Stephen and Justin have also been pursuing careers in music.

You can keep up with Joe via Twitter, his Facebook page and his website.
