Kat Perkins is saved on The Voice

Will The Voice viewers grant Tess Boyer her fourth save of the season?

She’s likely to need it tonight, if voting patterns on The Voice mirror today’s iTunes results.

Tess’ cover of “Ain’t It Fun” was the lowest ranking from The Voice artists on the iTunes Top 200 singles chart today.

That’s likely going to put Tess in danger tonight when the bottom three are announced.

Last week, standing alongside T.J. Wilkins and Dani Moz, she got the show’s instant save.

Before that, she was saved by Blake Shelton and Shakira after losing matches during The Voice battle rounds.

Who else will be in danger?

Most likely Team Usher’s Bria Kelly. She teared up over the lukewarm critiques after she covered “I’m With You.” And today, she landed ninth among the Top 10 on iTunes at 122, nearly 50 spots behind the singer in eighth place.

And who was that? Delvin Choice, who turned in one of Monday’s most electric choices.

Right in front of him in seventh place? Sisaundra Lewis, who probably has the best voice of all the voices and closed last night’s show.

Let’s just say the makeup of tonight’s bottom three … and the subsequent instant save … cost be very interesting.

Meanwhile, congrats to all the Top 10 for doing so well on iTunes. Every singer member of the Top 10 charted (compared to one of the Top 6 American Idols last week) and six cracked the Top 50.

Bria Kelly is in danger despite sitting at number two on iTunes’ rock chart; Tess Boyer is in danger despite cracking the Top 20 on the alternative chart.

I think it’s safe to say two very talented singers are going to be going home tonight.

And here we go … results time.

First, Usher takes the stage with Bria Kelly and Josh Kaufman singing “Always on the Run.” Nice, rocking performance to kick things off.

We’ll also hear from Shakira, singing her own song “The One Thing,” with Tess Boyer and Kristen Merlin.

Advancing to the Top 8

* Christina Grimmie: That’s what happens when you slay it on the stage, then iTunes.
* Sisaundra Lewis: Hmm, she was only third on Team Blake on iTunes, so I wondered if she might hit the bottom 3.
* Kristen Merlin: She might be the surprise contestant in the competition so far.
* Josh Kaufman: Last night’s song choice was a turkey, but fans didn’t seem to care.
* Audra McLaughlin: The gal from Philly made it to the Top 8. Nice job.
* Delvin Choice: He delivered my favorite performance last night.
* Jake Worthington: I couldn’t imagine him being eliminated this early.

That leaves a final three of Tess Boyer, Bria Kelly and Kat Perkins. Each will now perform.

And, now, the save-me songs …

Bria Kelly: She’s singing “Crazy On You” for the save. No doubt, this young lady has a big voice. And she’s singing this with aggression. Seems like she’s rushing it. Well, you can’t say she didn’t pour her all into that performance. But it all seemed a little bit desperate. When she’s full-out belting, she’s great. When she isn’t … Grade: B–

Tess Boyer: She’s going to sing Pink’s “Who Knew.” Love this song. Her voice is being overpowered by the background music. But she’s showing much more control than Bria. And a really big voice of her own. Dang, that was an incredible glory note at the end. Really nice performance from Tess. And she poured her heart into it as well. Grade: B+

Kat Perkins: Oh, no. “Paris Oh La La” yet again. How often can this song be done on these shows? Of course, Kat is doing very, very well with it. And showing off her stage presence in the process. I’m really quite surprised to see her in this position. She delivers as well. Judging from the crowd reaction, she might be save-bound. Blake says if that “doesn’t buy you next week, I don’t know what the hell will.” Grade: A–

And this week’s save on The Voice goes to …

Kat Perkins.
