Slater Nalley and Baylee Littrell scored the most popular auditions from the first week of American Idol based on YouTube streams.

An interesting detail there is that both young men auditioned with an original song, Slater with “Touch of You;” Baylee with “Waiting on Myself to Die.”

Slater, 17, of Atlanta, is now encouraging fans to pre-save his song, a sign that it will be released soon.

Baylee, meanwhile, has posted a full version of “Waiting on Myself to Die” to his Instagram page. He’s 21, also from Atlanta and the son of Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell.

As for the number, fans had viewed Slater’s audition more than 2.7 times as a noon Friday. Baylee’s audition had racked up nearly 950,000 views.

Those numbers should come with an asterisk. Idol used Slater’s audition to promote the Season 23 premiere, “leaking it” to YouTube on Feb. 27. Baylee’s didn’t land until after the premiere aired, 10 days later.

Auditions continue Sunday night on Idol. Below, find the YouTube numbers for all the auditions released to YouTube.

As always, following the link will take you to a profile of the singer, complete with info on music they’re already released.
