Miranda Kitchpanich is among the artists we’ll meet when American Idol kicks off Season 19 Sunday night.

Here’s more about Miranda:

* She’s a 19-year-old singer, songwriter, guitar and bass player from Washington State.

* Her web bio says she began private instruction with an award-winning classical composer at age 9.

* And by age 10, she was giving her first public performance, singing Sara Bareilles’ “Love Song” at an elementary school talent contest. She posted the video to Instagram, writing “I hope you giggle at this as much as I do.”

* She later joined the School of Rock program and was a School of Rock all-star from 2013-2018, according to her Instagram profile. That meant touring with one of the program’s rock bands each summer.

* As a result, she has performed at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Lollapalooza, the Gathering of the Vibes, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Summerfest in Milwaukee.

* She also plays tambourine and writes on Facebook that she has a “deep love and respect for the blues, classic rock, funk, and R&B.”

* On her website, she says her favorite artists include Led Zeppelin, Queen, Heart, Soundgarden, Beth Hart, Etta James, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Elmore James.

* In August, she posted an original called “Only When We Fall” to social media as a tribute to her grandmother, who had just died from COVID. Wrote Miranda: “Namie was a huge part of my life growing up. She was just a wonderful grandmother — she did everything she could in her life to spoil her kids and her grandkids, no questions asked.” Miranda played the song for her grandmom via Zoom before she passed.

* And while she doesn’t appear to have released music yet, Miranda has posted four other originals — “Oh Mama,” “Waiting,” “Behind the 8-Ball” and “Hard to Lose.” You can check out the impressive “Behind the 8-Ball” below.

* She was nominated as best blues female vocalist in the 2020 Washington Blues Society Awards. And she performed at the 2020 International Blues Youth Showcase.

* She also posts daily to TikTok where she has more than 52,000 followers.
