If you haven’t visited the music department in your local Wal-Mart in the last week, you might not know that American Idol has released a second CD of season eight tunes.This one isn’t a full-length CD featuring all the top 10 finishers, like the album released June 30.

This is a five-song EP, featuring the top four, selling for $5. Like the first CD, it’s a Wal-Mart exclusive. It was released last Tuesday (July 14).

Here’s the track list:

1. “Renegade,” the Kris Allen and Danny Gokey duet

2. “Whole Lotta Love” by Adam Lambert

3. “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Kris Allen

4. “What Hurts the Most” by Danny Gokey

5. “Slow Ride” by Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta

All in all, I like that track list more than the one for the full-length CD.

OK, “Renegade” wasn’t anything special.

But if you’re going to include Adam Lambert’s duet, how do you not include the duet performed by Kris, the guy who won Idol?

Meanwhile, the first CD isn’t doing very well on Billboard’s Hot 200 album chart. After debuting at number 34, it dropped to 36 last week and 49 this week.
