Anthony Fedorov wants to celebrate diversity with his new album

Anthony Federov from American Idol Season 4Anthony Fedorov has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new album.

And he’s hoping that album delivers a badly needed message following a year of turmoil.

He says the songs he hopes to put on the album “have been inspired by some of the current events from this past year. With so much craziness going on in the world I feel like it’s my responsibility to put out something positive that hopefully will help some people heal and bring people together.”

“My main purpose for this album is to speak out against racism, bigotry, sexism, separatism, basically any form of discrimination,” he writes in his campaign pitch. “With this album I want to celebrate our beautiful diversity, promote universal love and acceptance, and give hope and strength to those that need it.”

He’s looking to raise $10,000 by Thursday, Jan. 19.

As of Thursday night, fans had already pledged more than $7,100.

Of course, there are rewards for those who support the effort. A digital download of the album is available for $15. Ante up $1,500, and you’ll get a chance to sing on a bonus track called “Raise a Toast.”

You can find out more about the Kickstarter campaign here.

Anthony was the fourth-place finisher on Season 4 of American Idol — that was the year Carrie Underwood won. He released a single called “Breaking Free” last year.
