Well, this formula hasn’t changed.

Melanie Martinez drops a video to YouTube: Millions of views follows.

Two days after Melanie dropped the single “Fire Drill,” it had already attracted more than 2.4 million views on YouTube.

The song plays over the closing credits on Melanie’s “K-12” film. But it wasn’t included in her “K-12” album, released last fall.

Melanie fans can rejoice over this bit of news too: There’s more new music coming.

Melanie will be releasing an “After School” EP to complete a deluxe version of the “K-12” album.

Melanie became the first former Voice artist to place two albums in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 when “K-12” entered the chart at number three last year.

Her 2015 debut album “Cry Baby” hit number six on that chart and has enjoyed a recent resurgence thanks to the song “Play Date” becoming a TikTok sensation.

Here’s “Fire Drill.”
