Lauren Alaina has a new song out and is up for a CMA Award.

Lauren Alaina dropped a song she calls “my favorite single I’ve ever released” on Friday.

It’s called “Ladies in the ’90s” and it’s an ode to female singers who dominated the radio waves that decade and helped inspire her to pursue music.

Females, for instance, like Britney Spears, who gets a shout-out in the chorus.

The release marks Lauren’s first stand-alone single since her “Road Less Traveled” album dropped in early 2017.

The runner-up on Season 10 of American Idol has enjoyed a country music resurgence over the past two years.

The lead single from that album reached number one on Billboard’s country airplay chart.

So did her “What Ifs” duet with Kane Brown from his self-titled debut album.

In fact, despite releasing her own post-Idol debut album in 2011, Lauren has been nominated as top new female artist at the Country Music Association awards, set for next month.

Lauren also just embarked on the Reason to Drink — Another Tour with Cole Swindell and Dustin Lynch, which runs through the end of the year.

Head to Lauren’s website for tour dates and ticket info.

Here’s the lyric video for “Ladies in the ’90s.”
